Terms of Service
These terms govern purchases and use of Catcord’s premium AI-powered translation services.
This document is provided in English. The German version is legally binding where applicable.
1. Scope
Catcord is operated by Marcel Heß (sole proprietor), c/o Adressgeber #1793, An der Alten Ziegelei 38, 48157 Münster, Germany. Catcord provides AI-powered Discord translation and commerce tooling for community servers. By activating a subscription or purchasing word packages, you agree to these terms.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and hold sufficient permissions on your Discord server to connect Catcord. Keep your login credentials secure and notify us immediately of unauthorised access.
3. Subscriptions and word packages
Premium subscriptions renew automatically at the selected weekly, monthly, or yearly interval. Word packages remain available for 90 days after purchase. All prices are stated without VAT pursuant to § 19 UStG (Kleinunternehmerregelung).
4. Fair use
Catcord enforces word caps described on the pricing page. Automated scraping, resale, or bypassing rate limits is prohibited and may result in suspension.
5. Refunds
You can cancel renewals at any time through the dashboard. Refund requests for unused portions are assessed individually; contact support@catcord.app within 14 days of purchase.
6. Liability
Catcord is provided as a small business service under the Kleinunternehmerregelung (§ 19 UStG). We remain fully liable for intent and gross negligence.
For simple negligence, we are liable only for damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health, and for breaches of essential contractual obligations. In the latter case, liability is limited to foreseeable damages typical for the contract.
Catcord may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or disruptions in upstream services (including Discord, payment providers, or network operators). We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and are not liable for downtime or service interruptions beyond our reasonable control.
Translations are generated with AI-powered systems. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of translations and are not liable for errors, mistranslations, or consequences arising from reliance on translated content.
Liability for indirect damages, consequential damages, lost profits, loss of data, or business interruption is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by German law. The exclusive place of jurisdiction for merchants is Münster, Germany.
8. Contact
Questions regarding these terms can be sent to support@catcord.app.
9. Privacy and retention reference
We distinguish between transient chat-relay content and stored service content. LangRelay chat payloads are processed for delivery and are not persisted by Catcord after dispatch. Stored categories include reminder definitions (including reminder text), broadcast notifications (including message text), usage/notification events, billing metadata, and account profile fields.
Retention logic is enforced in production code paths: run_personal_data_retention (usage + notification events 180 days, broadcast notifications 90 days or earlier at expiry, vote events 180 days, vote claims up to 30 days or at expiry, vote boosts up to 180 days or at expiry, billing pseudonymisation after 365 days, dormant user cleanup up to 730 days) and purge_released_servers (server-scoped reminders/configs removed after 30 days from release).
Version: 2026-02-26. Changelog: clarified content-category split (relay vs stored data), added reminder/broadcast content references, and aligned public wording with database.py plus the public rights and retention guide /docs/DSAR_RETENTION_OVERVIEW.md.
